LASTING IMPRESSIONS

Created by Anne 15 years ago
My very special husband John made a BIG impression on everyone who came into his life. Even when he was very ill his true character shone through! I have bumped in to some of the nurses who cared for him when he was in the HDU - High Dependency Unit and not expected to live through the night. They have all said what a lovely man he was and how he cared so much about me and our lovely family and even managed to make them and other patients and visitors laugh! Dr Michael Wood was the consultant who cared for John together with Professor Britton and Dr Wood sent me a lovely hand-written card after John passed away. John's oncologist Dr Gary Middleton also sent me a lovely letter. His will to live and their wonderful care for the 12 days he was in HDU and the time he spent in the Runnymede hospital enabled him to eventually come home for a short time. He then had to go in to the Princess Alice Hospice for 12 days and when I return there the nurses all remember his determined will to live and efforts to get through each day. Siobhan, our very caring special community nurse who looked after John and our family at home and our lovely GP, Dr Fiona Wilson said they had never met such a loving close family and what an amazing man he was. JOHN - you were certainly the KING of our family and we all miss you so very much.
