From the GRANDCHILDREN

John - this is the tribute Ryan and Jessica wrote and read out on behalf of all our grandchildren at home on the day of your funeral. "As the eldest 2 of 10 grandchildren we thought it would be nice for us to say a few words about the "man" we all loved and looked up to. Well - where do we start with our Grandad? For the last 16 years we have been growing up, eating our vegetables so that we grow "big and strong" like our Grandad. Here are some of the many memories we shared with him. The fondest memories we all share are of the many Sundays arounf Grandad and Grandma's house with all our family. 2 weeks before Grandad passed away we had a aurprise party for him to celebrate his life! He had come out of the hospice for the day and even though he was on oxygen and very weak he still smiled constantly and enjoyed himself. We will always remember how brave he was and never forget this day! But best of all we will remember his face at Christmas time when we would do our dancing shows taking after him and Grandma. We feel very lucky to have shared so many special memories with our Grandad and just wanted to finish by saying: We know how much you loved us all and how happy you were when we were all together and we promise that this will continue and even though you won't be there we will all be thinking of you. Grandad - we will always love you."
