Dad, I know I havent added a comment for a couple of months as it has been quite a difficult time. Grandad had been very poorly and we managed to keep him at home with us as long as we could but sadly it did get to the point Maria and I couldnt give him the nursing care he needed, even with the nurses coming in. He was in Abbey Chase for a day short of three weeks before he passed away. Regretfully, I was not with him but Martin was by his side thankfully as Louise, Helen and himself took it in turns to be with him during the last few days of his life so he was not on his own. We have now had his funeral and he is at last with Nan. The last few weeks all seem a bit of a blur and it seems very strange without him. It has bought it all back with you and just how much we miss you all. Maria wrote a poem with a little bit of help from me and I will add it in a while as it did make us all smile. On Grandads order of service, I added, 'Tenderly we treasure the past, With memories that will always last' which is very true. Graham xxxxxx
